COQUITLAM FOUNDATION MAYOR’S FUND
As Coquitlam’s one-stop home for community philanthropy, the Coquitlam Foundation is blessed to possess a multitude of ways to make a positive impact on the city. From distributing grants for volunteer organizations and bursaries for graduating students, to launching a fundraising drive or establishing a new donor-advised fund, the foundation is truly the charitable heart of Coquitlam.
The Coquitlam Foundation envisions a community where quality of life is enhanced by residents and organizations creating lasting legacies by contributing to endowment funds that benefit a broad range of eligible organizations.
Established by an Act of the B.C. Legislature in 1992, the Coquitlam Foundation is a registered charity which provides a vehicle for compassionate citizens to build enduring legacies; gifts that keep on giving to their community in perpetuity.
Working with a dedicated group of volunteers (the Board of Directors and five active committees), the Coquitlam Foundation collaborates with community members, businesses, and local government to encourage people to INVEST in their community. Together we ENRICH and INSPIRE one another, using the earnings on the funds that are created to support important and needed community initiatives for youth, seniors, in health, the Arts, education/literacy, conservation, heritage and the environment.
Wesbild recently donated to the Mayor’s Community Fund at the Coquitlam Foundation. The Mayor’s Community Fund was established in 2010 by Mayor Richard Stewart of Coquitlam. The fund has two goals: to assist needy Coquitlam students; and to distribute grants to institutions or organizations undertaking projects or work, primarily in Coquitlam, that will be of benefit to residents of Coquitlam.
